Structured Literacy Intervention

A child integrates their word, sound, and sentence structure knowledge in order to read fluency and write comprehensively.  Children with difficulty reading, writing, and spelling, often have persistent, unaddressed deficits in their foundational language skills.  Individualized assessment and intervention from a licensed speech-language pathologist can improve your child's reading and writing skills, including:

> Phonological Awareness (knowledge of how sounds combine to make words)

> Morphological Awareness (knowledge of word roots, prefixes, and suffixes)

> Vocabulary

> Decoding

> Reading fluency

> Reading comprehension

> Spelling

> Grammar

> Knowledge and use of punctuation

If you are concerned with your child's reading and/or writing skills, contact Jennifer Houch, MS., CCC-SLP today.
